Homestay Providers Wanted

We are seeking English Tutors who can provide accommodation, meals and private lessons at home in Waikato area for international students who take part in "Study English & Live in your Teacher's Home" programme.

Waikato Institute of Education is currently seeking host families for hosting international students.

The ideal Homestay family will:

• Speak English as a first language

•  Spend time with the student doing family activities and helping the student to understand Kiwi culture

• Spend time with the student assisting them with their English conversation and homework

• Be understanding of cultural differences welcome the student to become part of the family

• Live close to our school (located in Centre place Mall, Hamilton) or within reach of Hamilton bus routes to the city centre.

We require all homestay families to provide our students with three meals per day including a packed lunch on weekdays; provide clean laundry and provide the student with their own bedroom in a warm, clean home.

In order to be considered as a Homestay host, please download and  fill out Homestay Application Form Waikato Institute of Education Homestay staff will visit selected homes in order to view the amenities, answer questions and discuss the Homestay experience. Homestay staff members are available to assist students and host families throughout the Homestay period.
