Certification and Pathway

Upon successful completion of this course, you will have a nationally recognised qualification from NZQA and the experience to work in New Zealand in roles such as classroom language teacher, teacher aides, language assistants, online language teacher, or language trainer.
Graduates may also undertake further study towards qualifications in language teaching at Level 6 and above.

Entry Requirements

  • at least 18 years old
  • pass a safety check to complete the practicum component in accordance with the requirements of the Vulnerable Children Act 2014
  • English Requirement:
    • Candidates who studied High School in NZ require at least NCEA level 2 English
    • Otherwise, IELTS Academic Score 5.5, with no band lower than 5 or its equivalent
  • Target Language:
    • Demonstrate competence at Common European Framework of Reference C1 or above. (IELTS equivalent 6.5).

  • Length: 20 weeks
  • Course Intakes: Feb / Jul
  • Class time: 9am - 3 pm, Monday - Thursday
